El legislador chileno Andrés Celis Montt propuso que infectados de coronavirus del país trasandino sean trasladados a hospitales en Mendoza y Buenos Aires ante la saturación del sistema de salud de la Región Metropolitana de Santiago. El razonamiento, que de acuerdo a Celis Montt fue planteado por Sociedad Chilena de Medicina Intensiva y apoyado por él, estipula que antes de trasladar enfermos a regiones de Chile muy alejadas de Santiago, podrían aprovecharse las camas libres de Argentina.
"Aprovechando que están en cuarentena total y que no están tan saturados en camas críticas, ventiladores, personal etc, se podría hacer un convenio por el traslado a Mendoza y Buenos Aires", dijo a MDZ Radio. Santiago tiene una curva de casos en ascenso y el sistema de salud esta al borde del colapso, aunque todavía no llegó a una situación como la que se vio en Europa en donde debían elegir a quien darle una cama de terapia intensiva.
