El partido Europe Ecológica-Los Vedes (EELV) logró este domingo 28 de junio, hacerse con el control de un grupo de ciudades importantes como Lyon, Estrasburgo y Burdeos, durante la segunda vuelta de las elecciones municipales. "Hoy, la ecología está dando un gran paso. Un paso gigante", dijo este domingo, el secretario del partido de los verdes, Julien Dayou, mientras festejaba junto con sus aliados de izquierda, los resultados de las elecciones de municipales.
EELV se aseguró el control de metrópolis emblemáticas como Lyon, gobernada por el Partido Socialista (PS) desde 2001, y Burdeos, el bastión del gaullismo desde hace 73 años. En alianza con los socialistas y el movimiento de extrema izquierda, Francia Insumisa (FI), de Jean-Luc Mélenchon, también lograron el poder en Marsella, segunda ciudad más importante de Francia. Igualmente se impusieron en Estrasburgo, Poitiers, Besanzón y Tours, además de conservar el control de Grenoble.
